After an exhausting weekend in Sanibel, we decided to leave the beach and try to grab a bite for breakfast somewhere on the way to the highway. I refused to go to a corporate breakfast spot and wanted to try something local. Yelp pointed us in the directions of Sunny's. At first we were confused because a giant portion of the strip mall's parking lot was blocked off for construction. It looked like the major retailer in the strip mall had closed and they were getting ready to move in a new tenant. We finally found Sunny's nestled in the middle of the strip mall, very unassuming. I was happy when I walked in because I felt like we had found a great local spot. The décor was spotty at best, but I loved the feel of the restaurant. There were a few tables when you walked in and a few booths along one of the walls. In the middle of the restaurants was a counter with stools which had a view of the cooking area, almost like what you would expect at an old-time diner. I was VERY excited to see what this place had to offer. The waitress greeted us with enthusiasm and was very helpful in helping us decide what we should order. After a very brief wait time, our orders arrived. The food was nothing out of this world, unfortunately. My diced potatoes were bland. Overall, my expectations were met as I got to experience a nice local breakfast (rather than a stop at Perkins). The food missed the mark a little. Overall, it was a nice, local spot.

My sister and I were the only table in the restaurant on a Thursday fur brunch. Their food is great and they have a little bit of everything. The French toast is great, and so I'd the biscuits and gravy! I just wish they had advertising out by the road because I didn't hear about them until a year after they had opened. Now it is in the regular breakfast rotation.

I passed a Perkins and a Dennys on my way to find a breakfast destination and decided I wanted to try something new. I looked this place up on Yelp, decided their four stars were a good sign and stopped in. This place is severely underrated! It is a very small place with only a handful of booths and a completely open kitchen. Only one booth was available at the time we entered and everyone was very welcoming-- which is important to me as I came in with my partner and don't really expect much from a small town joint in terms of acceptance. No stares, no strange glances-- everyone was nice! The menu is limited to regular breakfast items but it was certainly enough. I ordered one single pancake, bacon and biscuits with gravy. The pancake was cooked to perfection, the bacon was mediocre but the biscuits were INCREDIBLE! I highly, highly recommend the biscuits and gravy! After we were done eating, we both agreed that their food was cooked to absolute perfection. They definitely have a great thing going at this place, they are breakfast champions. In terms of quality control, this place is surprisingly AMAZING! If you ever get the chance, stop in and appreciate the mom and pop atmosphere of a little, certainly overlooked restaurant like this. At the end of our meal, we tipped a little over 20% and it broke my heart to see how delighted our waitress was to receive a tip that, to us, is standard in Miami. Thank you, Sunnys!

Located on Tamiami trail in a strip mall in Fort Myers, serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Simple decor, simple food and easy on the pocket. We came for a late breakfast and were taken care of promptly. The eggs were tasty and cooked fresh. They had a table of food set up and saw a lunch group come in and sit down with no wait so they have call ahead ordering. Great idea for those who work in the area with limited time to eat. Decent food at decent prices will bring me back again.

We needed a quick and early breakfast on our way to play golf and Sunny's fit the bill. Service was very friendly and attentive and we were in and out in a half hour. Omelettes and pancakes were pretty good.

I have been searching for a delicious breakfast spot since moving to Fort Myers 5 years ago - today I found that spot! Huge portions, great prices, nice staff! Ordered breakfast at 1 in the afternoon to go. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which were perfectly cooked and covered with creamy hollandaise sauce, also tried the sausage biscuits and gravy - another favorite, toasted biscuits and creamy gravy with chunks of sausage! My boyfriend ordered the ultimate turkey club - which lived up to its name - it was HUGE! Topped with turkey, bacon, melted cheese, and all the fixings! The customer service staff was excellent when we picked up our food and the establishment was tidy and quaint! It has a great hometown feel! Certainly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch!

Avoid the crowds and come here for a home cooked breakfast :-) greasy spoon type diner but the breakfast is perfect. Best part is not standing in line with all the snowbirds waiting more than a half hour for a table.

I had a delicious, reasonably priced breakfast here last month...basic bacon, eggs, home fries and toast, all fresh and perfectly cooked. I had already ordered when I noticed "pineapple upside down pancakes" on the specials board, and hoped they would be available next time I came in! But I wanted to give 5 stars also, because of the insults and 1 star given by Mike E. because he didn't like the political discussion he overheard. We want to hear about the food, not the political whining of a self-important weasel. Notice how easily those "tolerant" liberals toss out names like redneck, for people with whom they disagree. I'm glad he won't be going back to Sunny's, because it would certainly ruin my meal if I had to listen to him. And, I want to try those pineapple pancakes!

Sunny's is a must for anyone that loves breakfast and hospitality. The owner Deb is the cook and a wonderful person. Her assistant cook Mike is a great young man. You will be greeted by Del the server. The other servers are great also. This is like going back in time! Great Food, Great People and a feeling of family. Give it a try you will love it!

Great local place, away from the tourist chains. In a small plaza just off of US 41. Good food, friendly staff and real people. What more can you ask for? Try it, youll like it!

The food is mediocre and the service is fast. Was going to rate this place a 3 until the staff started talking about Mike Brown and the Ferguson situation. After regurgitating some fox news media highlights and crapping out of the mouth loud enough for the whole room to hear, I figured I'd slide that star count down to 1 for keeping it san carlos classy during my Monday breakfast. Speaking an opinion without action is like farting, it stinks, it's forgotten in five minutes, and it's double awful to do so in a restaurant. I'm going to keep having my good Monday morning while the staff and redneck guests complain about welfare.

Thank you Yelp for a nice meal in an unfamiliar town. Driving back home from Sanibel and my stomach said- don't you dare get on Alligator Alley quite yet!!! Pulled up yelp, two places near by that looked good, but went to this one based on review quality. Good call. The place was empty when we walked in at 11. Everyone was very welcoming, all tables were clean. I had the French toast and it was delicious. One kid made their own omelette and the other had a kids meal. My husband was in the mood for lunch and was stuck between the Reuben and chicken salad sandwich. He asked the waitress and she said they were both good but they make their own chicken salad and she loves it. He got it and I think he licked the plate clean. All of our food came out super hot and rather quickly. There were about five other tables as we walked out, so we must have walked in during a lull of business. Glad we stayed. Will for sure revisit in the future.

Awesome staff here and it's a very cozy place for breakfast/lunch. Went here for breakfast late on a Saturday with a friend and our waitress was great, wish I had gotten her name. I got a basic breakfast of eggs, toast, fruit, and home fries and everything was cooked perfectly. Only giving this place 4 stars because there are breakfast places in the area that I prefer food-wise. Overall, good experience and will be returning.
